FRENCH MAHOGANY AND KINGSWOOD PARQUETRY BUREAU A CYLINDRE, c. late 1800’s, in the Louis XVI taste. The rectilinear top, embellished with Kingswood geometric parquetry with mahogany crossbanding and satinwood stringing and bordered by a pierced brass gallery, over a roll-top with like parquetry as top, opening to reveal four open shelves over four short drawers enhanced with Kingswood and ebony and satinwood stringing, above a pull-out writing surface inset with green leather trimmed in red leather accented by gilt Greek key tooling. The apron with long center drawer flanked by two short drawers, embellished with parquetry, crossbanding and stringing like top, raised on tapered square columns, inset with satinwood stringing, resting on brass points. The sides continuing with parquetry as top and front.
