English 19th Century Mahogany Sideboard
Dimensions: 44 1/2″H x 89″W x 19 5/8″D
A sizable mahogany sideboard from 19th century England. This four-door case piece features three interior storage cavities as well as five drawers, and has been influenced by the French Louis XVI style. All doors and drawers that are lockable contain working locks. Two smaller drawers at the piece’s top each have beautiful cast brass pulls, while all other keyholes are surrounded by cast brass escutcheons done in a tied ribbon motif. The doors are all hung on barrel hinges and open to reveal the three separated storage cavities, all equipped with two fixed shelves. This commanding antique sideboard has quite a presence which is seemingly magnified by its plinth base. c.1880.
