Dimensions: 94 1/2″H x 43 1/2″W x 23 1/4″D
A handsome mahogany secretary with glass-front cabinet and roll top from England, c.1830. This tall secretary has an upper body that is equipped with three finished and adjustable shelves that are visible behind two lockable doors, which retain their original wavy glass. The beautiful roll top has two brass knobs that are cast in the form of lions’ heads. This wonderful top opens to reveal the secretary’s well-appointed work area. This includes a pull out leather top writing surface, pigeon holes for writing sundries, as well as six small drawers, whose fronts have been finished with stunning beech veneer. Beneath the writing surface is an additional storage cavity. This space contains a slightly adjustable shelf and can be secured with its locking doors.
