FRENCH 19TH CENTURY BLACK MARBLE MANTLE CLOCK

A handsome black marble mantle clock from the end of the 19th century, France. This wonderful timepiece is made of patinated black marble that has been decorated with styled geometric etchings. The clock face is white with hand-painted Romans numerals, and encircled by a ring of brass ormolu in an egg and dart motif. The clock face also has decorative details extending from behind the arms, and is protected behind a crystal window that is trimmed in beaded brass. The hour hand has an arrow fashioned after a fleur-de-lis. The clock is in working order.
