French 19th Century Elm & Chestnut Farmhouse Dining Table
Dimensions: 30″H x 103 5/8″W x 34 1/4″D
A gorgeous elm and chestnut farmhouse table from France, c. 1860. This exceptionally well-patinated table hails from Provincial France. Four thick, elm boards comprise the table’s top, fixed together with tongue in groove joinery. The boards have beautiful grain and character that it has acquired over its lifetime. The top is married to a solid-chestnut base, with chamfered legs and stretcher that joins them, providing additional support. A great feature of this table is that the top has enough overhang at each end to accommodate seating at the head and foot of the piece. This nearly one hundred sixty year old table is a true beauty that will remain beautiful for hundreds of years to come.
