French 19th Century Gold Gilt Louis XVI Demilune Console
Dimensions: 36″H x 27″W x 13 1/2″D
This radiant little console table was made in France, towards the middle of the 19th century. Clad in exceptionally well-preserved gold gilt, this table also boasts detailed carvings that are stunningly detailed. The gray, demilune-shaped marble top is also in excellent antique condition and fits the console perfectly. The apron is pierced and designed with beautiful scrolled acanthus leaves that continue on its sides. Floral garlands hang from the apron, which has signature Louis XVI rosette joinery dies from which the table’s legs extend. The legs are narrow, styled and fluted. They are joined by a fluted decorative stretcher, adorned with an urn, floral bouquet and garlands. A very special table that is hard to find in such wonderful condition.
