French 19th Century Louis Philippe Burl Rosewood Buffet
Dimensions: 59 1/4″H x 48″W x 17 1/2″D
This stunning Louis Philippe style buffet has an inset white marble top, which is in great antique condition, with few blemishes. It has canted corners that match the body. Made in France towards the end of the 19th century, this tall buffet is outfitted with two drawers and two doors. Both the doors and top drawer have working locks and are finished with a moulded panel trim. These doors conceal an interior equipped with three shelves which have heights that can be adjusted to accommodate any irregularly sized possessions. The buffet’s façade is finished in an extraordinary burl rosewood veneer that is in excellent antique condition and has been book-matched. This process creates a balanced, mirrored effect and insures the furniture has an evenly distributed burl pattern. Beneath the two doors is an additional drawer for additional storage. c 1880.
