A large, French oak enfilade, made in Normandy towards the end of the 19th century. This tall piece has been made in the provincial style. The antique contains three drawers that are set above three doors. The center drawer is lockable, and all three doors contain working locks. The outer drawers have brass knobs, while the center drawer has a cut brass escutcheon surrounding the keyhole. The doors, which are hung on brass barrel hinges, all close before individual cavities. These each contain a single fixed drawer. The panel doors have been embellished with wonderful shell cartouches set in diamond shaped carvings. This grand enfilade has a beautifully shaped skirt that continues naturally into the cabriole feet. c.1870.
