A lovely provincial tall case clock, with hand-painted details, from 19th century France. This antique timepiece is in working order with a clear bell that rings the hour. The mechanical clock is weight driven and will require regular winding. The beautiful enameled face has had its Roman numerals hand painted upon it, along with “Tabuteau à St-Andre-de-Cubzac.” The styled pendulum has a large brass bob that swings inside the clock’s banjo style case. The case has been decorated with sweet flowers and foliage that add to the charm of this excellent French antique.
