French 19th Century Walnut Louis Philippe Buffet
Dimensions: 49″H x 55 5/8″W x 23 1/4″D
A fantastic tall buffet, made of solid walnut, from provincial France circa 1880. The two drawers have turned wood knobs and patinated cut steel escutcheons. The doors also have cut steel escutcheons, a working lock, and they close before a partially partitioned storage cavity. Like many Louis Philippe furniture components, the doors have a restrained design, with solid walnut panels that have been book matched to create a mirrored effect. The beautifully toned walnut has been constructed using peg and hole joinery, ensuring this heirloom can be passed to future generations.
