French Early 19th Century Mahogany Directoire Enfilade
Dimensions: 40 3/4″H x 71 1/4″W x 21 1/4″D
A stunning Directoire period three-door enfilade from early 19th century France. The enfilade has a gray fossil-marble top that is filled with shells and other petrified sea life. It is in wonderful antique condition. The body is composed of three drawers that are set above three doors. The drawers all contain working locks, and like the front door panels, are finished in a spectacular book-matched mahogany. The three doors can also be locked, and conceal two separate interior cavities, one large, one small, each with a single fixed shelf. All keyholes are surrounded by brass escutcheons that are done in a beaded pearl motif. The corner posts have all been adorned with fluted carvings. The legs are tapered, adorned with brass ormolu details, and have brass capped feet.
