Time is kept through mantle clocks, watch holders, wall clocks shaped in squares, hexagons and round. Portico clocks, tall case clocks with banjo shaped cases, grandfather clocks, desk clocks and more. Made of carved woods with ormolu and hand painted. We sell fire-gilt clocks, a craft that John B. McLemore of This American Life’s S Town made popular in modern times.

Vintage and Antique Pieces for Your Home

While you can’t time travel, our vintage and antique clocks will take you to centuries past, even as they show you time in the present. Humans have moved through history first telling time with ancient devices, which led to mechanical and pendulum clock production as time went on.

From shadows produced by obelisks and sundials to water continually dripping from a reservoir to indexed candles melting and finally sand in hourglasses, humans have created many innovative timepieces. Artisans and craftsmen have invested countless hours into antique clock design. At Fireside Antiques, we have some of these pieces in our inventory.
