  • English 19th Century Hand-Forged Iron Trivet

    15.75"H x 15.38"W x 15.38"D

    Dimensions: 15-¾”H x 15-⅝”W x 15-⅜”D

A small but lovely example of the blacksmith’s art. The hand-forged 19th century iron trivet features a flat surface to place hot pots that have come off the open fire or stove after cooking. It has two straight legs in the back and one cabriole leg in the front. Stretchers connect the legs and it forms an open surface to place another hot pot. This would have been next to the fireplace on the hearth.

  • Large French Copper Pot with Iron Hanging Handle

    $695.00

    14"H x "W x 25.5"D

    Dimensions: 14″ H x 25 1/2″ D

A massive antique copper pot, made with a forged iron hanging handle. The handles have 7-⅝” extensions that would be used to suspend the metal pot over a heat source, often an open flame. The exterior has become blackened and weathered from use. Given few people have fireplaces large enough to accommodate such a massive vessel, today, the pot could be used just outside the fireplace as a stylish place to store firewood and/or kindling. Its aged finish will only improve with time and with each log tossed in. So many applications can be found for this unique and unusual antique copper pot.

  • Large French Copper Pot with Iron Hanging Handle

    $525.00

A sizeable antique copper pot, equipped with a forged iron handle that can be used to suspend the vessel over a fire. The pot has a hammered exterior that gives the antique a styled finish. The copper has patinated wonderfully, with some verdigris present. Although this interesting antique has a culinary purpose, it is not strictly relegated to the kitchen: it will make an excellent place to store firewood / kindling or use it as a cachepot for your favorite potted plant! The handles extend 6-¼” out from each side.

  • English 19th Century Adjustable Pole Screen

    $1,100.00

    57.625"H x 19.875"W x 12.5"D

    Dimensions: 57-5/8″H x 19-7/8″W x 12-1/2″D

An interesting adjustable pole screen, from England, circa 1830. During the warmer months, when fireplaces were not in use, pole screens would hide or at least decorate unsightly, soot-filled fireboxes. A framed needlework depicting a pastoral scene with felled tree is supported by a mahogany pole that allows the screen to be moved up or down. The pole has a decorative turned end that rests on a mahogany tripodal base and showing some wear from use. An elegant antique work of art.
