French Directoire Walnut Daybed & Crown

This is a classic French Directoire hand-carved walnut daybed and crown. The walnut bed frame has Directoire motifs thoughtfully carved throughout. The headboard and footboard are upholstered in a French toile fabric matching the custom bedspread, pair of bolster pillows and two drapery panels meant to extend from the crown. Assembly is required. The bed rails attach to the headboard and footboard with steel bolts and are very sturdy. Boxspring and mattress included. This petite storage piece features a removable marble top with lovely patterns and veining atop a single top drawer with original round metal pull above an open recessed shelf that measures 13 ⅝” deep, and a lower cabinet that opens to more storage space measuring 11 ⅝” deep. The entire piece is molded and trimmed and has nicely paneled sides.The whole rests on a wonderful stepped plinth base and has the most attractive colors and patterns in the wood grain. A lovely vintage Louis XVI style full sized bed from France. Gently arched headboard and footboard are upholstered with an artisan made Zak & Fox “Kaze” linen fabric with a graceful abstract design depicting waves. The sturdy wood frame is painted an aged deep cream with black edging in its deep carved grooves. Each leg is fit with a charming carved pegged foot. A fantastic little Louis XV style bedside table. Topped with an inset piece of marble that has undergone some minor repairs, its got a shaped edge. The apron houses a slim drawer with a shaped panel and turned nob. The paneled door houses an interior space fit with white enamel as it would have been intended to store a chamber pot. French 19th Century Petite Chest

This petite mahogany bedside table was crafted in France during the 19th century. A breakfront pierced brass gallery surrounds the antique white marble top. The marble is in excellent condition. Three drawers with thumbnail molding are fixed with small brass pulls and easily open. Rectangular, tapered legs with brass sabots support the whole. This fantastic day bed from the 1800’s was made of fruitwood in the style of Louis XVI! The shaped headboards are full of great details; a decorative nailhead trim securing the vintage floral fabric, carved rosettes at the corners, and fluted feet. A bedskirt matching the upholstery is secured from inside the frame. Three large rectangular pillows, two cylindrical decorative pillows, and matching floral sheets are included. This is an outstanding French Louis XV night stand. Exquisite Rococo style carvings and hand painted floral designs. Soft colors and gold gilt highlight the exceptionally ornamental and theatrical style of this table. The marble top sits just above a single drawer with a brass knob in the apron. Inside the drawer is an original label with partial print and some handwriting. There is a door with a brass knob. The concealed compartment behind the door is great for additional storage. The whole is raised on four, carved cabriole legs.
