    A Swedish pair of Louis XVI style benches made in the 1700’s. These classically styled benches have a neutral colored top cushion filled with horsehair, ready for a custom upholstery.     A petite carved Restauration period settee made in France. This comfortable settee has a decoratively carved mahogany frame with classic motifs along the arms. The frame is upholstered in a gently used canary yellow stripe upholstery with a brass nailhead trim and includes a matching cushion. The whole is sturdy and is raised on five splayed legs.     A handsome and sturdy pair of French Directoire square back fauteuils are tasteful and comfortable. These mahogany occasional chairs are upholstered in a worn green velvet and accented with gold tape trim. The arms are rounded and smooth and attach to decorative, carved front legs.     A French Directorie period petite settee is in wonderful antique condition. Hand carved and built in the early 1800’s, this settee is sturdy and is sure to bring a lot of character to your space. The carved wood frame boosts its original worn paint finish. Worn cut velvet upholstery adds patina and warmth and is surrounded with nailhead trim. The plush seat cushion is removable.     This elegant and comfortable settee was crafted in 19th century France and features beautiful cut velvet upholstery in a gorgeous botanical print and goldenrod color. The carved walnut frame is rich in tone and has deep curving trim, florals, and scrollwork. The wood has aged well and now has a handsome patinated finish. This seating is very comfortable and the plush seat cushion is removable. This sturdy settee is in great condition and supported by wonderfully shaped legs.     An early 19th century French Louis XV style gold giltwood 3-piece parlor salon suite. This lovely set includes a settee and two armchairs. All pieces feature vintage moire silk upholstery in a stunning pattern with florals and stripes, ribbon trim, scrollwork on intricately carved frames, patinated gold gilt finish, curving lines, shaped legs, and quality French craftsmanship.     A rare and impressive 18th century English wainscot armchair hand-carved from solid oak. A highly decorative and original piece hand-crafted circa 1750 with inlaid floral and foliate motifs on a molded and trimmed back panel. Featuring smooth broad arms on turned supports and a boarded seat raised on turned legs with block feet joined by stretchers and pegged construction throughout. Cleaned and polished from top to bottom with a French paste wax that brings out the beautiful dark patterns and lustrous patina of the oak. This chair is sturdy and structurally sound with two timber cracks on the back panel. These large armchairs are upholstered in a printed tapestry fabric, trimmed in tape and affixed with oversized brass nailheads. The curved Os de Mouton “mutton bone” arms not only give the chairs their name, but also their unique and timeless style that has lasted throughout the centuries. The walnut frames are impeccably turned and sturdy. These armchairs, with their enduring style, will work in a variety of interior spaces and blend well with a multitude of decors.

    A fantastic pair of Period Louis XV petite fauteuils! The giltwood frames have been carved with exquisite craftsmanship. The giltwood has been worn with age and use, giving the pair a great patina without taking away from the luster of the gold. The upholstery is in good, used condition and depicts a beautiful design of flowers and vines in metallic thread with gold trim. Classic French check fabric on the back.     A fabulous Savonarola chair with perfectly worn red velvet cushions with quality tassel ties. Decorative brass finials contrast the hand forged iron frames beautifully. The bottom and arm cushion contains the original mohair filling and remains quite comfortable. The curvy stretcher adds to the shapely body and provides continued support and finish at brass ball-and-claw feet. The cushion is removable and the seat height is 17-¼”.     English set of eight arts and crafts dining chairs of impressive design and condition from the 1860’s. The geometric carvings are thoughtfully designed and implemented. Worn leather seats with nailhead trim are comfortable and generous in size. The leather is in gently worn condition and rich in color, complimenting their oak frames.     A fabulous individual Louis XVI style bergere from 19th century France. This antique armchair boasts a meticulously carved and painted frame to which a lovely striped fabric has been affixed. The squared frame is ornamented with carved acanthus leaf, lamb’s tongue, twisted ribbon and fluted motifs and has been painted a beautiful taupe/sage green color – which has patinated wonderfully over the decades – exposing the natural hardwood found below in more trafficked areas. The bergere is upholstered in a more recent fabric, with a pink and ecru stripe. The upholstery is affixed to the frame with brass nailheads. Seat height: 17”H.

  • English 19th Century Painted Hall Bench

    Dimensions: 36-1/8″H x 75-1/2″W x 23-7/8″D

    An amazing painted hall bench – teeming with charm – from 19th century England. The large antique has panels with diagonally oriented wooden slats which were painted green many decades ago. The frame is finished in a dark/black paint that can still be found about the weathered wood. The seat has been left in its natural state, and a comfortable seat it is! Two drawers are hung from the bench’s bottom which have also had their fronts painted green. Their metal hardware has been painted as well. The front legs and front arm posts have been turned, and along with the rest of the bench’s frame, has patinated marvelously over the years, contributing to the bench’s overall antique, English charm. c. 1880. Seat height: 17-1/4″H.

    A whimsical set of upholstered French reproduction dining chairs, produced there in the 20th Century. The set contains four side chairs and two armchairs. They have painted frames that are made to appear antique. Their overall style is in accordance with Louis XVI, and features fanciful backrests formed like early hot air balloons. The chairs are comfortable and have been recently upholstered in a wonderful blue/green fabric that is both resilient and on-trend. It is trimmed with double welt cording. The legs are turned with fluted carvings.

The painted frames are highlighted in a sage green. These lovely bergères, one slightly larger for “Him,” would be perfect in front of a fireplace, a bedroom, or in a study!

    A brilliant pair of gold gilt fauteuils, made in France towards the beginning of the 19th century. The pair has been more recently upholstered in a silk fabric depicting fruiting branches. These Louis XV armchairs have a carved frame that is finished in wonderfully preserved, lustrous gold gilt. Sinuous lines, hallmarks of the classic Louis XV design, are incorporated into the chair’s rails, with lovely cabriole legs emerging from them and terminating in escargot feet.
