A single English Lancaster bergere chair from JAMB, London. This comfortable chair has a squared off back and arms supported by mahogany fluted and turned legs and splayed back legs, all on casters. A sophisticated set that includes a French 19th century oak bergere and ottoman. Fluted legs, indicative of the Louis XVI style, support each broad cushioned piece with slender elegance. The sturdy oak frames of each are deeply carved, molded and trimmed and have a well patinated wood finish that gleams. Comfortable cushions on each wide seat and durable ivory colored upholstery make this set easy to incorporate into any existing home decor. This elegant pair of Louis XVI-style cream-painted “His” and “Hers” bergères, c. 1860’s, are from France and feature gorgeous velvet floral upholstery in shades of aubergine, lavender, grey, and green. The painted frames are highlighted in a sage green. These lovely bergères, one slightly larger for “Him,” would be perfect in front of a fireplace, a bedroom, or in a study!

A wonderful pair of French 19th Century walnut Os de Mouton armchairs. These large armchairs are upholstered in a printed tapestry fabric, trimmed in tape and affixed with oversized brass nailheads. The curved Os de Mouton “mutton bone” arms not only give the chairs their name, but also their unique and timeless style that has lasted throughout the centuries. A French Louis XVI style carved and painted bergère à oreilles circa 1860 featuring charming details and vintage upholstery. Elegant and eye-catching this chair is as much a conversation piece as it is a comfortable seat. The bergère’s upper rail flaunts carvings of lambs tongue patterns, gold gilt and edged in deep green paint. Accented with acanthus leaves, rosettes, and petite beads that add an element of sophistication and are a representation of classic French craftsmanship. A pair of early 20th century Louis XV style oak frame chairs. Recently upholstered with cut silk and velvet fabric, the seat height is 18” without the cushion and 24’’ with the cushion. The caning is in great condition, stained to match the rich oak. Flower carvings on the shaped back beautifully match those on the skirt and legs.
