A French Louis XVI style carved and painted bergère à oreilles circa 1860 featuring charming details and vintage upholstery. Elegant and eye-catching this chair is as much a conversation piece as it is a comfortable seat. The bergère’s upper rail flaunts carvings of lambs tongue patterns, gold gilt and edged in deep green paint. Accented with acanthus leaves, rosettes, and petite beads that add an element of sophistication and are a representation of classic French craftsmanship. The comfortable cushion and back are covered in a vintage ecru silk fabric with raised dots throughout. Four fluted and tapered legs provide a sturdy and stylish base. A rare 19th century English mahogany reclining high back arm chair with floral upholstery and under arm metal reclining mechanism. A lovely Victorian reclining armchair that is fashionable as well as exceptionally comfortable. Of elegant proportions, having a high supportive back, a shaped stuffed seat, padded armrests, reeded carving around the polished wooden frame, and raised on splayed feet. Gently worn coral and floral vintage upholstery is hand nail tacked into place creating a beaded affect with the round nailheads. The high back reclines using the two metal handles under each arm to give the chair four comfortable positions. Original castors are on the two front feet making it easy to move the chair around. A fantastic pair of Period Louis XV petite fauteuils! The giltwood frames have been carved with exquisite craftsmanship. The giltwood has been worn with age and use, giving the pair a great patina without taking away from the luster of the gold. The upholstery is in good, used condition and depicts a beautiful design of flowers and vines in metallic thread with gold trim. Classic French check fabric on the back. A gorgeous pair of satinwood armchairs, made in The Netherlands during the 19th century. Influenced by English Regency and French Empire styles, the pair have a delightful, delicate design that is airy and light, but also proud and resolute. Each chair has an urn form back with bookmatched veneer. The long, slender arms have a graceful form that meet the frame at beautifully turned pillars. A pair of early 20th century Louis XV style oak frame chairs. Recently upholstered with cut silk and velvet fabric, the seat height is 18” without the cushion and 24’’ with the cushion. The caning is in great condition, stained to match the rich oak. Flower carvings on the shaped back beautifully match those on the skirt and legs.
