This wonderful French 19th century, solid walnut semainier is the perfect way to add more organizational storage to your space without sacrificing style. The design of the semainier was originally created in the 18th Century with 7 drawers to hold a week’s supply of clothing. It’s gained a beautiful patina since its creation circa 1830. Seven drawers each feature brass lion head pulls and simple escutcheons. No key is present. Recently cleaned and polished with French wax paste, the drawers easily open. An elegant Empire style commode from 19th century France, circa 1840. The stunning smooth wood top is well patinated and showcases the gorgeous honeyed tones of the walnut. A hidden frieze drawer within the apron slides easily and allows for extra storage space. Three lower drawers with fine walnut grain patterns on their fronts all have simple brass escutcheons and round brass pulls edged with a lovely repeating neoclassical pattern. A 19th century French Empire mahogany semainier featuring artful neoclassical hardware. Hand-crafted in France circa 1810, this semainier is fitted with seven drawers to provide a drawer of clothing or lingerie for every day of the week. A beautiful piece of subtly veined white marble sits atop this case piece’s rectilinear designed architectural body inspired by ancient Greek and Roman concepts. The top hidden frieze drawer sits below bold molding and is adorned with a large and lustrous brass winged neo-classical figure in its center. Beneath and flanked by finely turned columns with etched brass capitals and bases are the remaining six drawers that open easily and have working locks. One key is present. Each of the six drawers has sizable floral and foliate escutcheons and cast brass drawer pulls that feature gorgeous relief florals and grapes. The solid body is finished out with a plinth base and sturdy turreted feet. A wonderful French walnut commode hand-crafted in France circa 1830 with rather grand Empire style elements. Topped with a removable piece of white marble with lovely gray veining and shaped front corners. Three long drawers have matching cast brass escutcheons depicting lush cornucopias filled with flowers. No key is present but drawers open easily with decorative lion cast brass drop pulls. Tapered rectangular columns on each side feature a beautifully detailed brass caryatid capital and brass doric base atop a blocked support that follows down to ornate claw shaped front feet. A fine French 19th Century Louis XVI style commode made of beautiful walnut. Its original shaped marble top with absolutely gorgeous colors and patterns sits over three wide graduated drawers decorated with lustrous brass circular escutcheons and bellflower drop pulls trimmed with scrolling ribbons. Three keys are present to use in working locks. This dignified case piece is paneled and gilt trimmed throughout, and iconic of the Louis XVI style features two fluted columns flanking the long drawers, each having decorative acanthus wrapped brass capitals and bases. A stunning mahogany chest of drawers, made in early 19th century England, circa 1820. This five drawer case antique is made in the Georgian style and features a linear composition with extraordinarily clean lines and a polished, finished presence. The graduated drawers all slide with ease and are accessed using their wonderful brass bail pulls – decorated with the ostrich feather and coronet coat of arms of the Prince of Wales. A shaped skirt complements the splayed front feet. There are no keys present.

A 19th century painted pine chest of drawers from England. The top has a molded edge, following down to simple sides and two over three drawers on top of squared base. Simple brass escutcheon plates are shield shaped. No key is present, but the drawers open easily with gorgeously patinated hand turned pine pulls that are a lovely contrast to the natural colored original paint on the rest of the chest supported on hand turned feet. Beautifully book-matched mahogany veneer finishes this spectacular Louis Philippe style commode from 19th Century France. Numerous fossil inclusions can be found throughout the commode’s original gray marble top. The antique consists of four drawers which are all accessed using a single key. A handsome bookmatched walnut commode from France crafted during the 1830s. Composed in the Empire style. The apron houses a hidden drawer above a bank of three equally sized drawers below. Each drawer front is fixed with a pair of lustrous circular pulls and escutcheon depicting roses and a butterfly. Turned columns flank the drawers and have bronze capitals and bases. This darling commode was crafted from a richly toned walnut during the 1880s in France. The whole has been recently cleaned and waxed with French wax paste and showcases a fine patina. A bank of three drawers compose the petite body. The top drawer is fit with a functioning lock and includes a key while the lower drawers feature a simply turned wooden pull. A great Louis XVI style mahogany commode from the 19th century. The original red and white marble sits over a bank of four drawers. All drawers are fixed with a pair of rectangular pulls and a simple keyhole- no key is present. However the drawers are easy to open with the brass pulls. This French bombe chest from the 1780’s is a unique find. Fixed with the original red-ocher, shaped marble top with a molded edge. A very small, older repair to one of the marbles’ corners is barely visible. This commode’s mixed woods are beautifully displayed on all three drawers and both sides. There are book-matched details throughout the piece, giving it wonderful symmetry. Incredible brass folate inspired ormolu pulls and escutcheons elegantly complement the overall design. A shaped bottom drawer and cabriole legs are classic elements of bombe commodes and chests from this period. A handsome Louis XV style commode circa 1800 or earlier. A fantastic charcoal marble top with a molded edge, shaped in the same fashion as the body. A bank of three drawers features impressive cast brass ormolu pulls and escutcheons. Two keys are included for all three functioning locks. The wonderfully patinated hardwood is accentuated with scrolling paneling. A fine scalloped apron with a modeled edge features a floral carving in the center. Curvy cabriole legs support the whole. This striking little demilune chest features exceptional inlaid mahogany in varying varieties that have been thoughtfully book matched and placed about the chest to maximize the beauty expressed through its grain. Made in France in 1965, this vintage chest was created in the style of Louis XVI and underwent a refinishing in November of 2009. This restoration is documented in writing beneath the half moon piece of Breche d’Alep marble which tops the chest, along with the maker’s signature “Vecnissage par H.B.B Maco 1965”. Two shaped drawers are housed within the chest and bedecked with cast brass pulls and escutcheons. There are no keys present. Beautiful cast brass ormolu can also be found about the front feet, apron and flanking the bank of drawers.

This wonderful Empire mahogany commode was created in 19th century France. Topped with a removable piece of black fossil granite with rounded front corners. The apron houses a hidden drawer without hardware, it opens easily with groves hidden on the underside of the drawer. Three lower drawers each feature a pair of highly decorative cast brass pulls with a beautiful floral motif and simple brass inset keyholes. No key is present for this piece. Recently cleaned and polished with French wax paste; the bookmatched mahogany veneer has gained a warm patina. There is some minor wear to the drawer edges, adding to its antique charm. A fabulous French mahogany commode from 19th century France, circa 1840’s. The stunning gray and white marble top with rounded front corners is in good antique condition with few signs of wear. The apron houses a hidden drawer, free of hardware. Making up the body of the piece, three larger drawers have more recently been fixed with a pair of laurel wreath cast brass drop ring pulls for easy accessibility to the drawers. Cleaned with French wax paste and easy to open- all three drawers are inset with brass trim encircling the unadorned key-holes. Every drawer features a working lock; one key is included. The bookmatched drawer fronts showcase the unique grain patterns of the mahogany. Over 150 years of everyday use have left signs of wear of the facade, giving it a wonderful patina.
