English 19th Century Octagonal Table with Marble Top

A very unique Georgian-style, Chinoiserie-inspired octagonal-shape center table from 19th century England with a painted frame of cream-white and tan marble top. The marble surface has lovely veining of curious fossilized patterns in a range of beige, ochre, and ivory tones that shows light patina of wear with a few surface scratches. A thick apron hosts two drawers, and each side between the legs is accented with a handpainted design to create a paneled effect in a contrasting charcoal line. A series of turned legs supporting the top are similarly accented with intermittent black lines for subtle definition as the legs swell and taper down to the floor. If one is considering to use this piece as a card table, the opening to fit a chair is approximately 20” on each side. French 19th Century Butcher’s Presentation Table

A dramatic French marble and iron work table from the 19th century, that would have been a display fixture in a butcher shop or bakery to present the current offerings. The thick, white marble slab has wispy gray veining throughout, finished with a smooth, honed surface and rounded edges and is tinged to saffron-toned patina. Like many butcher’s tables of similar style, this example has a trough carved around the perimeter for liquids to drain into. The cast iron base features an ornate apron of dense, stylized Neoclassical foliate motifs suspended over exaggerated scrolls for legs. These historic details have been preserved and emphasized by a recent powder coat in a glossy shade of red somewhere between oxblood (appropriately) and maroon. French 19th Century Ebonized Louis XV Style Desk

A dazzling Louis XV style ebonized and brass-inlay desk from 19th century France, it is a masterpiece of rococo sensuality and bold, Empire taste. This exquisite antique table can serve multiple roles: as a console, desk, or center table to appreciate the fine, gilt bronze applications in the round. The serpentine top is edged in a gilt bronze trim of egg & dart pattern, matched in opulence by the intricate medallion at center of brass inlay featuring an overflowing garden urn surrounded by foliate scrolls and tendrils set off by the ebonized background. Please note there are some areas of loss to the brass, otherwise the design is still clearly appreciated. The table’s hidden drawer opens to provide a bit of storage, organized into three compartments. Swells along the apron bottom–also trimmed in gilt bronze and palmette ornaments–transition into cabriole legs armored with even more intricate and three-dimensional appliqués trailing down to the feet. The monochromatic stone features a low, routed edge along the perimeter with only minor evidence of its historic age, otherwise in good antique condition. The table’s apron shows exciting movement in the stylized wave motif, anchored on the corners with rosettes and draped with swags. Four turned legs have a low, fluted pattern tapering down to the baroque X-stretcher crowned with a large urn where they intersect. The shaped and impeccably inlaid top is hinged and will unfold to double in size and reveal a Kelly green playing surface, ideal for cards, dominoes and other games. When opened, the table has dimensions: 29 ½” H x 39 ¼” W x 42 ½” D. The table’s drawer opens to provide support for the top when laid open. When closed, it can be locked using the one key present. Inlaid brass and mother of pearl in a variety of motifs including birds, filigree, floral and foliate splays and flourishes and has been modified over time. This fine English mahogany tilt-top center table is signed and dated “T.O. Beeman, 1849,” on the underside. The base features a thick, turned column branching into four, reeded and splayed legs ending in stylized brass feet on casters.
