A vintage Corton clarinet made in Czechoslovakia and upcycled into a fabulous table lamp mounted on a beautiful onyx base with a vintage black silk shade. The clarinet shows signs of being a much loved and used musical instrument and its shape and Art Deco iconography goes splendidly with its gorgeous onyx base and sleek black shade. Elegant with neoclassical designs and featuring a tapered onyx shaft ornamented with decorative brass mounts supported by a wonderful triform lion paw footed base. A classically styled table lamp, finished in a burnished brass, that retains its metallic luster. The lamp’s shaft is styled in a candlestick / baluster form. The height can be adjusted anywhere between 22″-32″H. It has two bulbs with drop pull cords. The 14-1/2” classic Empire-form linen shade is included and secured to the harp with a round brass finial. An early 20th-century French Empire-style brazier, which was used as a portable heater burning hot coals or other fuel for interior warmth. This example was converted to a table lamp in the early-to-mid 20th century. The fuel well is supported by three brass legs with paw feet topped by three brass gryffon supports, holding the bronze bowl, decorated with palm motifs and an artichoke finial. The whole is supported on a concave tri-form bronze plinth base set atop a slightly larger piece of marble of the same shape. Includes custom pleated shade. The two-light fixture has been wired for US using UL certified parts.
