English Vintage Floral Still-life Painting on Board
$1,295.0029.88"H x 25"W x 1"D
Dimensions: 29 ⅞” H x 25” W x 1” D
An early 20th century English oil-on-board still life painting in vintage frame of similar age and condition with complementary floral decoration. Against a pale background of blue and gray, the bouquet at center overflows from the green pitcher with bursts of pastel flowers. The linen matting of a harmonious khaki-tone is actually more recent, floating the artwork in the wooden frame that has been painted an oxblood red with stylized apple or cherry blossoms. This small painting will surely command attention in any gallery wall collection but has the presence to stand on its own as well. Ready to hang in your interior. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. French Vintage Naïeve Oil on Canvas Painting
$650.0019.75"H x 27.50"W x 1"D
Dimensions: 19 ¾” H x 27 ½”W x 1”D
This French early 20th century oil on canvas painting illustrates a modest stone homestead with terracotta roof in a pastoral landscape below an orange tree. The artist’s technique of thin brushstrokes to build layers of nuanced color adds organic texture to the scene, as if one can touch and feel the trees and earth, drawing the viewer in for a closer look. Written on either side of the door is “vale” and “vade” which might be from Latin (and subsequent Romance languages) as a kind of well-wishing/goodbye. Faint signature and date to the lower right. Sold unframed, wired on the back to hang as-is. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition as they are an essential part of the description.

French Early 20th Century Male Nude by Didier-Tourné
$5,500.0037.50"H x 31.25"W x 1.50"D
Dimensions: 37 ½” H x 31 ¼” W x 1 ½” D
An early 20th-century gilt framed oil on canvas painting by French artist Jean Didier-Tourné (1882-1967), depicting a lean male nude in a kind of contraposto stance as he turns away in silhouette to the viewer, arms behind his back. The background palette is deliberately muted, creating a horizon line at his waist contrasting the gray-green upper against a burnt sienna below. Overall the minimal composition is captivating for its tense juxtapositions, his turned body is not only a figure study of human anatomy but one of shadow & light as the muscles are dimly illuminated. Signed on the back of the canvas along with “Rome” to put in local/historical context, no visible signature on the front. Framed by a gold gilt molding with thin reeded design.
