    An elegant pair of late 19th century French cast iron planters in the silhouette of “Medici urns”, displaying a Neoclassical taste that has been given a unique identity by way of a painted green finish over the metal. A rim of gadrooned motif flares out over the vessel which is decorated in a tight bouquet of wheat and scrolling ivy, widening into a gadrooned midsection. The slender foot is mounted on a square plinth base for stability. Note that one of the urns has received a professional repair by a welder just at the neck. The surfaces retain much of the teal-green paint which, by age and exposure, has patinated to areas of rusty oxidation and scattered wear.     An elegant storage piece for a dining room or foyer, this 20th century Louis XVI style enfilade captures the refinement of the period in timeless finishes like marble and mahogany. The white marble top follows the turreted profile of the case, where the stone does show evidence of prior repairs on each rounded corner. outlined by a pierced brass gallery cut away at the front. Three rectangular drawers in the frieze easily open by ring-pull hardware, flanked on the sides by reeded brass panels at the top of the legs. In the main body, three paneled doors in flamed mahogany veneer outlined in brass trim enclose the compartments. Each contains fixed shelves: two narrow cabinets on the left and right (15 ¼” deep), and a wide cabinet in the middle (16” deep). A little apron hangs below the center door, enhanced by a linear, floral appliqué of gilt bronze. Three keys included for the working locks. Fluted, tapered feet elevate the piece from the floor giving it a sense of lightness in spite of the grand scale.     An extraordinary French 19th century vanity or hall tree that could serve many functions around the home to anchor an entryway, hall or dressing room in need of a statement piece of furniture with storage. Made in the Art Nouveau taste, this pier-style mirror is composed of an original, elongated beveled mirror plate that displays an intriguing haze of dark foxing throughout, towering over the console/cabinet and shelves (secured by a series of dowels to disassemble as needed). All the wooden construction is painted in a thick creamy white with parcel gilt details to achieve a sense of lightness against the grand proportions. A stylized pediment above the glass features a gilded floral crown which sets the tone for the biophilic and gilt elements worked into every component of the frame, as botanical references, rosettes, or simply lines painted on the turned wood baluster columns. At the waist is a small inset surface of red marble, the perfect drop-area console for keys and other personal effects; the stone features exciting movement of deep red and gray veining which complements the openwork frame using curvaceous brackets to support the shelves.     A unique painted bow-front commode/chest of drawers from the late 18th century in striking finishes and proportions that beg for a prominent spot in the home like a small buffet or console beyond clothing storage. Its red marble top, likely a type of Campan Mélange, shows exciting movement of gray and white veins throughout the red-maroon stone that has been cut and polished to a sloping bullnose edge. Two wide, spacious drawers occupy the deep case that bears the remains of a tonal blue painted scheme which has worn significantly to reveal the blond pine grain underneath. Both drawers open easily by pairs of solid, cast brass drop handles with satisfying heft.     This modest console table, or server, is hand-crafted of solid walnut dating to circa 1860 France. The planks of the top have an amber-honey glow, a rich patina from time & use, and breadboard arrangement with perpendicular boards on the short sides made using square-peg joinery. A small, shallow drawer sits in the middle of the apron that has been cleaned and waxed to glide easily, opened by a turned wood knob. Within the wood one sees long ago insect damage leaving convoluted grooves of incredible texture that adds to the organic qualities of the piece. The whole is supported by thick, tapering square legs without bottom stretchers to use this table for a number of different rooms and functions. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to preserve all the historic character.     A capacious, 19th century French Louis Philippe style bibliothèque, handcrafted of mahogany with a row of four glass-front doors for displaying treasured books, heirlooms, and other collections in a living/dining room, office or library. The clean, linear order and warm color allows this timeless design to fit any number of historic and transitional decorating tastes. Behind the two pairs of locking doors are three interior shelves (10 ½” deep) that seem to float against a plush backing of dark blue velvet. Upon closer inspection there are worn areas in the fabricl, minor holes and tears particularly concentrated to where the bolts connect the upper body to the base cabinet–see the image gallery for examples. The lower buffet projects an additional 12 ¾” inches from the top cabinet (like a buffet à deux corps), creating a generous ledge for serving and display that stands 32 ¼” from the floor. Four locking doors enclose the divided interior which follow the proportions of the upper body. Each pair of doors work in tandem by a lock & key and both compartments have a stationary shelf, 23 ⅜” deep.     A pair of enormous 19th century French stoneware cruches traditionally used as a bottle or demijohn to transport and store water, oil, or wine–now artifacts of culinary history to add to one’s studio pottery collection or décor. The hand of the potter has imparted organic variation to the form with a wabi-sabi quality of utilitarian authenticity, using a salty glaze which creates movement across the (uneven) surfaces of the bottles in dramatic shifts of color from deep, earthy browns and reds to the neutral tan of the stoneware clay. The bulbous vessels use integrated handles at the top to aid in pouring liquid out of the narrow mouth that would have been corked. One cork is present.     A dazzling French gilt bronze and crystal chandelier from the mid-20th century to illuminate your dining room, foyer, or other glamorous space. This Maison Baguès style frame has true depth and sculptural interest from a hammered, or chiseled, texture beneath the gilding that has aged to patchy craquelure and areas of dark patina. It is mounted to the ceiling by a large canopy of giltwood, carved in a stylized sun or sunflower design bursting into spiky corona. The multitude of tiers and scrolled hooks are dripping with a variety of glass shapes: pendalogues, stars, chains, and a crystal ball to catch the light from six faux candles using candelabra-base bulbs. Take comfort knowing this fixture has been professionally cleaned and rewired for US electrical using UL-listed parts and is ready to be hung in your interior.
