This one of a kind armoire was custom made to showcase the fabulous pair of 19th century painted boiserie panels that now serve as the doors. Boiserie panels rose in popularity during the 18th century as a way to emulate the grandeur of the French nobility, but they also served many practical purposes like heat insulation and noise control. A marvelous, dawn- hued scene overlooking a vast countryside depicts a variety of avian species in the foreground. Antiqued brass hardware perfectly compliments the colorscape of the paintings. The left door features an interior hook to hold it closed while the right is secured with a strong magnetic door catch. The interior is painted a warm walnut color and easily houses 5 adjustable shelves with a depth of 14”. The exterior was painted to match the existing color of the door panels. The whole is slightly raised on bracket feet and adds a nice shape to the overall body. French Painted Louis XVI Style Painted Enfilade

A wonderful Louis XVI style painted enfilade hand-crafted in France in the early 1900s. Its original shaped marble top is a marvelous ivory color with coral and charcoal veining throughout. The fantastic colors of the marble paired with the cool coastal tones of the painted finish make this case piece extremely attractive. Below the marble top are three easy-to-use, paneled and trimmed drawers that feature cast brass escutcheons, a set of decorative circular drop pulls with neoclassical detailing and a center escutcheon encircled with bow-tied ribbon garland. Similar ribbon escutcheons can be found below on the cabinet doors. Four keys are present. Three large lower doors open up to ample storage space and each houses a fixed shelf. The top shelves measure 15 ¼”deep and the bottom shelves are 17” deep. Rounded and fluted corners are found throughout the whole which is raised on fluted turned legs and brass capped feet. These stylized escutcheons follow down to be found on the bottom drawers and one key is included for all five functioning locks. Under both top drawers the front of the desk folds forward to reveal a work area inset with vibrant orange leather elegantly detailed with gold tooling. The leather is in great antique condition making this a comfortable place to work. When open, you can see the theatre is equipped with five drawers with round brass sunburst pulls and a large open cubby partitioned with arches and columns with the center housing carved stairs that can be removed to reveal a private storage space. Four drawers and neoclassical details compose this outstanding Empirical commode hand-crafted in France circa 1810. This case piece is topped with an interesting piece of black, gray and white fossil marble that, along with the body, has patinated wonderfully over the decades. Iconic of the Empire style, two pilaster columns flank the bank of drawers, each having decorative brass caryatid capitals and neoclassical bases. The top frieze drawer and the three that follow all have paired swan escutcheon plates, and all open with one present key. Fierce lion head cast brass pulls allow for easy access to the lower three drawers. The whole stands on sturdy tapered feet and is covered with richly colored and beautiful bookmatched mahogany veneer. Custom Armoire Made with 19th Century Painted Boiserie Doors

This one of a kind armoire was custom made to showcase the fabulous pair of 19th century painted boiserie panels that now serve as the doors. Boiserie panels rose in popularity during the 18th century as a way to emulate the grandeur of the French nobility, but they also served many practical purposes like heat insulation and noise control. A marvelous, dawn- hued scene overlooking a vast countryside depicts a variety of avian species in the foreground. Antiqued brass hardware perfectly compliments the colorscape of the paintings. The left door features an interior hook to hold it closed while the right is secured with a strong magnetic door catch. The interior is painted a warm walnut color and easily houses 5 adjustable shelves with a depth of 14”. The exterior was painted to match the existing color of the door panels. The whole is slightly raised on bracket feet and adds a nice shape to the overall body.
