English 18th Century George III Gate-Leg Oak Table
Dimensions: 27-5/8″H x 53″W x 42-1/2″D
This exceptional George III oak table was made circa 1790, in England. The table has a large, oval top which can fold down to save space when not in use. When the top is down, the table measures 27-5/8″H x 16-5/8″W x 42-1/2″D. The table’s base is made of richly toned quarter-sawn oak, and provides a sturdy platform on which to build a table fit for everyday use. The table has four fixed baluster legs, reinforced with stretchers, and two legs that swing out to support the top, when opened. These baluster legs have been masterfully turned, and like the entire table, have a patina that is aged and wonderful. A single large drawer also graces this amazing antique, perfect for storing items out of sight. This drawer has a brass ring pull.
