English Painted & Ebonized Large Bookcase
$9,800.0097.38"H x 97.50"W x 20"D
Dimensions: 97 ⅜” H x 97 ½” W x 20” D
This English bookcase from the late 19th century (or early 1900s) makes a dramatic statement for any interior by its scale alone, and the ebonized finish on the exterior gives it the presence to anchor any kitchen, dining room, library, or office. Below an understated cornice, soaring glass-front doors of the bookcase provide visibility to regard the contents of the two cabinets, using three shelves each (13 ¾” deep) adjustable on sawtooth brackets. The first three doors (from left to right) exhibit the unmistakable wavy surface of antique glass however the fourth and fifth panes might be more modern replacements. In contrast to the ebonized exterior, the back and shelves of the interior have been painted an ethereal blue-gray to further illuminate and highlight the contents. Delineating the upper and lower bodies are two small, retractable shelves that can slide out as needed to place something like a book being removed or filed back in the stacks. The lower body of the unit–protruding slightly beyond the shelves like a “buffet a deux corps”–offers locking cabinets for (less visible) storage and organization. Each shelf measures 16 ¾” deep, adjustable on sawtooth brackets for your convenience. Cleaned, tightened and polished, this monumental storage piece is ready to astound in your interior. Please view the detailed images to see more. Three keys included to share between the locks.
French 20th Century Oak and Marble Washstand
42.75"H x 43.38"W x 21.75"D
Dimensions: 42 ¾” H x 43 ⅜” W x 21 ¾” D
A vintage 20th century French washstand of white marble top with backsplash over a mahogany-tone (oak) storage cabinet including two drawers. While this piece may have originally been intended as a vanity to wash up at, the beauty and practicality of the marble surface makes it adaptable to other areas of the home like a kitchen or dining room as a dry bar and small buffet. The lightly patinated stone surface rises along the back to form a low backsplash, finished by a narrow shelf above (4 ½” deep) that is supported on beautifully carved brackets to the left and right sides. Light surface scratches are found on the marble due to age and use. The planks of the cabinetry are arranged in a beadboard technique with the doors angled in an eyecatching chevron pattern secured by a magnetic catch. Inside is one shelf, 17 ⅞” deep. Small, turned feet elevate the case from the floor in a classic French touch. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition.

The upper and lower bodies are separate units that offer one long shelf each to organize clothes, household linens, dinnerware, and more. Portuguese 18th Century Carved Solid Chestnut Cabinet
$9,995.0082.38"H x 56"W x 28.38"D
Dimensions: 82 ⅜” H x 56” W x 28 ⅜” D
A substantial carved cabinet from Portugal, 18th century if not earlier, made of chestnut wood that has been carefully transformed with reeded, geometric designs on the four doors. In a hybrid style known as “Mudéjar” the decorative arts of the period nodded to the Moorish presence in the Iberian peninsula and global influence from the colonies . Using just a single solid plank for each side of the cabinetry, the interior is divided into upper and lower sections enclosed by these gorgeous doors hung on forged iron hardware with working locks. The top cabinet offers a high, narrow shelf around three sides like a kind of mezzanine over a 22” deep shelf that fills the interior. Below that, to the right side, is a small tabernacle box whose door is also carved with the repetitive lines seen on the exterior doors. The lower cabinet has one shelf, approximately 48” wide x 22” deep. While this cabinet may be nearly 400 years old its solid construction and extraordinary craft would make an astounding addition to any interior. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to preserve the historic character. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition.

Petite painted shop counter from a 19th Century French bakery or mercantile, this unusual and outstanding counter would transform your kitchen or retail establishment. This rosy pastel hue is complemented by the dusty blue paint on the case that makes quite a transformation of the familiar Louis Philippe silhouette. While the front of the case is an attractive paneled design, the back offers two drawers (one divided) over an open compartment with a shelf for storage. Cleaned, tightened and polished to bring out all the historic character. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition as there is splitting of the wood and heavy wear on the shelf.

$10,500.0098.50"H x 123.75"W x 19.50"D
Dimensions: 98 ½” H x 123 ¾” W x 19 ½” D
A sprawling, 19th century French bibliothèque, handcrafted of mahogany with four glass-front doors to display treasured books, trophies, and other collections in an office or library. Note there are two units here–mirror images of each other–designed as one complete installation. Louis XVI in style (with some Louis Philippe similarities) the clean, linear quality allows this timeless design to fit any number of traditional and transitional decorating tastes. Behind the pairs of locking doors framed by fluted pilasters are three interior shelves each (13 ½” deep) which are adjustable on sawtooth brackets to easily reconfigure as needed. Note that the panes do not exhibit the bubbles and waves to confirm they are original, so are likely 20th century replacements. Below the panes the mahogany panels showcase the beautiful grain patterns this exotic wood is prized for, underscoring the sense of luxury. This striking storage piece has been cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to bring out the rich grain pattern and historic patina, ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images. $9,995.0071.38"H x 59"W x 28.75"D
Dimensions: 71 ⅜” H x 59” W x 28 ¾” D
An exceptional Portuguese cabinet from the 18th century with faux bois painted exterior to mimic the exotic woods of the colonies, like rosewood and mahogany, that expertly captures their unique grain patterns and tone to become a unique work of art in the process. The top cabinet uses two, bifold paneled doors to enclose the interior, appearing as four narrow sections with dark, raised middle panels framed by contrasting “woods” in lighter tones. Each pair of doors has integrated bolts for vertically securing to the crown and bottom, plus a working lock fitted into the middle right door. Hidden in between the two bodies is a retractable shelf that slides out by two short knobs nearly imperceptible against the trim. In the lower body is a row of three drawers over a very wide drawer spanning the full width–all using wrought iron drop (lifting) handles to open. Note the middle drawer retains a working lock and key. For the modern interior the scale of this case piece is impressive alone, offering daily inspiration and fascination by the handpainted faux bois decoration to use for living and dining room storage, offices, or in place of an armoire. The cabinet has been cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to maintain every unique feature. Please view the detailed images to see more. Two keys included.

Dimensions: 31 ¾” H x 31 ½” W x 20” D
A charming 19th century solid oak petite buffet, exhibiting French Provincial flair and creativity which gives personality to the compact storage piece. Most notably, there are two drawers oriented perpendicular to each other: one opening from the left side and one on the front (above the right-side cabinet door) using plain, turned knobs. Two paneled doors carved to look like archways enclose the case below: the left door hooks onto the interior shelf and the right door is secured by lock & key. Inside is a stationary shelf, 16” deep. Thick posts as feet elevate the buffet from the floor. Navigating multiple design periods, the timeless style of this antique case piece would harmonize in a number of interior décor tastes. Four paneled doors enclose the unpainted interior, secured by magnetic catches and released by a gentle pull on the understated brass knobs. Note that the center doors open in tandem for easy access to the undivided cabinet with a single shelf (17 ½” D) spanning the width for abundant storage capacity to keep a living room or dining room organized.
