English 19th Century Oak Workbench
Dimensions: 31″H x 86″W x 23 3/4″D
Antique workbenches have a way of telling their story more than most other antiques. They are raw and honest, with scars worn proudly from projects past. Saw marks, dings and dents only improve their charismatic appeal. This bench was made of solid oak in England, circa 1870. It has a functional vise with hand-forged iron turn. An undertier shelf provides space for storing or displaying objects. An interesting aspect of this particular work bench is the angled back legs that impart a certain stylishness to this otherwise rugged antique. Excellent conversation pieces; workbenches work wonderfully behind sofas, in hallways and foyers, or even in the garage as a functional work table.
