Many parts of this console is constructed using mortise and tenon joinery and is hand pegged with treenails with some visible dovetail joinery.

These stylized escutcheons follow down to be found on the bottom drawers and one key is included for all five functioning locks. Under both top drawers the front of the desk folds forward to reveal a work area inset with vibrant orange leather elegantly detailed with gold tooling. The leather is in great antique condition making this a comfortable place to work. When open, you can see the theatre is equipped with five drawers with round brass sunburst pulls and a large open cubby partitioned with arches and columns with the center housing carved stairs that can be removed to reveal a private storage space. With the desk down the maximum depth is 22 ½”; the writing surface is 34 ¼” W x 30”H.
