Well loved and taken care of this large art or gallery easel displays a few paint drips and splatters on the frame from the previous owners. At almost 7 feet high the massive A-frame is fully adjustable with a wide range of different heights and has a shelf support that provides stability for the artwork as well as the option to be used as a well for artist’s tools while in use. A connecting stretcher across the bottom provides additional support and the frame terminates into two substantial elongated and chamfered blocks that eliminate the need for a third leg and roll on their caster wheels for mobility with ease. An antique British counter or grocer scale in cast iron and brass circa 1890. Small scales of this type had many uses during the Victorian Era and could be found in apothecaries, tobacconists, grocers, and shops. When looking at its underside you can see the other colors it has been in its lifetime of use as remnants of creamy orange and a kelly green paint show through.
