French 19th Century Empire-Style Mahogany and Marble-Top Console Table
Dimensions: 32-1/4″H x 45-1/2″W x 16-1/8″D
This stunning Empire-style mahogany console, made in France, c. 1870’s, retains its original black marble top with white veining which rests over an apron having a central ormolu mount depicting an urn flanked by a pair of cornucopia and scrolling vines. Ormolu wreaths are mounted on both ends of the apron above the caryatid heads which top the tapering legs and the whole is supported on a rectangular plinth base. This console would be fabulous under a large mirror or painting!
