Magnificently matched French walnut veneer combines with beautifully veined, 19th century gray marble to make a most beautiful and polished Empire style console table. The marble top is in antique condition and does have some small chips and surface scratches. Please take a look at our detailed photos for a closer shot. The apron houses a hidden drawer, ideal for out of sight storage. The top is lifted by wonderfully turned front legs and finished pilaster hind legs. The front legs have bases and capitals that are capped in brass, done with classic Empirical styling. Exquisite clean lines dignify the table and add to its striking presence. A lower shelf provides added storage and a great place to display books or other decorative objects. A fresh coat of French wax and polishing have revealed the rich color and luster of the walnut.
