French 19th Century Large Walnut Wine Tasting Table
Dimensions: 29-1/4″H x 71″W x 54-3/8″D
This walnut wine tasting table was made in France, circa 1880. These tilting tables are fun antiques for both the wine enthusiast and adversary alike. Thoughtfully designed for narrow-corridor wine cellars, they have the ability to tilt into a vertical configuration for out-of-the-way storage. It measures 56″H x 71″W x 25-1/4″D when vertically configured. When it comes time to taste, the tables are brought out and the vintners gather around to assess the vintage. This example is made of solid walnut and is substantially sized. The base is hefty and supports the beautiful walnut top. Often made of pine and/or lesser woods, this table was made using beautiful, fine, dark-toned walnut: likely made for a persnickety connoisseur of wine.
