Dimensions: 103 ½” H x 71” W x 20” D
This French bookcase from the late 19th century makes a dramatic statement by its scale alone, and the crackled texture of the paint gives it visual intrigue to anchor any kitchen, dining room, library, or office. Below an understated cornice, four tall, narrow glass-front doors of the bookcase provide visibility to regard the contents on three shelves (approximately 16” deep) which are stationary. Note doors are paired so the second and fourth doors contain the locks while the first and third doors use a slide-bolt for security. Most of the panes exhibit the unmistakable wavy surface and bubbles of antique glass, and a few are replacements. In subtle contrast to the chalky exterior, the back and shelves of the interior have been painted an ethereal blue-gray to further illuminate and highlight the contents. The lower section of the unit offers an undivided cabinet for (less visible) storage and organization, behind two pairs of locking doors. The stationary shelf inside is 16” deep, spanning the full width of the interior. Cleaned, tightened and polished, this monumental storage piece is ready to astound in your interior. Dimensions: 42 ¾” H x 43 ⅜” W x 21 ¾” D
A vintage 20th century French washstand of white marble top with backsplash over a mahogany-tone (oak) storage cabinet including two drawers. The lightly patinated stone surface rises along the back to form a low backsplash, finished by a narrow shelf above (4 ½” deep) that is supported on beautifully carved brackets to the left and right sides. $9,995.0082.38"H x 56"W x 28.38"D
Dimensions: 82 ⅜” H x 56” W x 28 ⅜” D
A substantial carved cabinet from Portugal, 18th century if not earlier, made of chestnut wood that has been carefully transformed with reeded, geometric designs on the four doors. Using just a single solid plank for each side of the cabinetry, the interior is divided into upper and lower sections enclosed by these gorgeous doors hung on forged iron hardware with working locks. The top cabinet offers a high, narrow shelf around three sides like a kind of mezzanine over a 22” deep shelf that fills the interior. The lower cabinet has one shelf, approximately 48” wide x 22” deep. While this cabinet may be nearly 400 years old its solid construction and extraordinary craft would make an astounding addition to any interior. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to preserve the historic character. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition.

Behind the pairs of locking doors framed by fluted pilasters are three interior shelves each (13 ½” deep) which are adjustable on sawtooth brackets to easily reconfigure as needed. Dimensions: 71 ⅜” H x 59” W x 28 ¾” D
An exceptional Portuguese cabinet from the 18th century with faux bois painted exterior to mimic the exotic woods of the colonies, like rosewood and mahogany, that expertly captures their unique grain patterns and tone to become a unique work of art in the process. The top cabinet uses two, bifold paneled doors to enclose the interior, appearing as four narrow sections with dark, raised middle panels framed by contrasting “woods” in lighter tones. French 19th Century Empire Buffet in Recent Paint
$6,500.0042.25"H x 61"W x 25"D
Dimensions: 42 ¼” H x 61” W x 25” D
A very unique French Empire 19th century buffet, or desserte server, in demilune profile and more recent painted finish of uncertain age. The top surface is a handpainted faux marble that is nearly all black except for delicate wisps of smoky gray veining. The case is washed in an ethereal tone of French gray with matte texture and mottled variation blending streaks of white, gray, and blue pigment that might easily blend with Directoire or Gustavian tastes more than the opulence of Empire. Inside the case are two shelves at different depths that could be perfect to use this case piece as a dry bar or dining room storage.
