French 19th Century Louis XVI-Style Walnut Armoire

A handsome Louis XVI style armoire, with mirrored doors, from 19th century France. The brass-trimmed and shaped cornice is bedecked with urn and flame finials on top, and a gilt brass ribboned wreath found in the frieze. The tall doors have shaped, beveled mirrors, brass ormolu, functional locks and close before a spacious interior. They are flanked by carved, reeded pilaster columns. The interior is complete with five shelves, all finished and able to be adjusted. Two of the shelves have inset lockable drawers incorporated into them, facilitating additional safe storage. The entire armoire is lifted by four turned and tapered feet, all clad with brass ormolu. The abundant brass ormolu found on the armoire comes in leaf and dart, fleurette, beaded pearl, foliate and ribbon motifs. c.1870.
