An impressive Louis XVI style hall tree from 19th century France. The antique has a centrally located mirror with an panel on each side. Each panel is backed in woven cane and has a brass rail and drip pan for storing umbrellas. The mirror has its original glass, which is beveled at the edge, that rests above a small marble-top console with drawer. The black fossil marble is in great antique condition. Eight styled brass hooks provide places to hang your coat and/or hat when coming in from outside. An upper shelf can be found at the hall tree’s top. This shelf has a cane bottom. Beautifully carved accents further beautify the antique in twisted and knotted ribbon, floral, torch and olive branch motifs. The hall tree has been painted a lovely antique gray-green.
