French 19th Century Mahogany Empire Gueridon with Marble Top
Dimensions: 29 5/8″H x 38 1/4″Diameter
An impressive mahogany Empire style gueridon, made in France circa 1890. The round table has a black fossil-marble top which has been welled, with visible specimens that have been petrified, suspended there for millennia. The apron is finished in book-matched mahogany veneer with cast brass floral rosettes positioned above each of the table’s three legs. These column-form legs have cast brass capitals with cast brass bases that rest upon the concave stretcher’s turreted corners. The gueridon’s placement can be easily adjusted thanks to its brass casters.
