French 19th Century Mahogany Empire Gueridon Table
Dimensions: 29 1/2″H x 32″Diameter
A rust-toned mahogany veneer has been artfully utilized in this stunning 19th century French gueridon. The table starts with an exceptional antique black fossil-marble top. A myriad of tiny creatures can be found in the stone, forever fossilized. The marble has been slightly welled, with an inverted Hollywood bevel edge, and is in impeccable antique condition. This stone top is supported by three column form legs, all with Empirically styled cast brass bases. The concave, tripod stretcher base has turreted corners and beautifully book matched mahogany veneer. The whole gueridon rests on brass casters. c.1870.
