A very handsome Louis Philippe style with Empire influenced hardware enfilade from France, circa 1830. Topped with exceptional marble featuring molded edges and rounded corners. The book-matched mahogany base has a beautiful symmetrical look and a rich patina. The apron shows off the characteristic “doucine” (soft curve) through the three drawers, lending softness to this strong, classic piece. Each drawer contains a functioning locking mechanism and brass escutcheons with laurel design. Supported by hidden hinges, the doors show off the incredible wood grain. Each is adorned with an acanthus leaf inspired cast brass escutcheon and working lock. Four keys are included. Two separate storage spaces house a single adjustable shelf. The whole is raised on sturdy, shaped feet. This case piece is so versatile! Great in a large entryway, as an elevated entertainment center, or anywhere you need extra hidden storage.
