French 19th Century Mahogany Louis XVI Commode
Dimensions: 34 1/4″H x 50 1/4″W x 23″D
This sharp, mahogany, Louis XVI three-drawer commode was made in France circa 1870. The shaped marble that rests atop the commode is in good antique condition, with a few blemishes along its edge. It has canted front corners to match the fluted corners that flank the piece’s three drawers. The three drawers all have round, brass, drop ring pulls as well as round, brass escutcheons that encircle the keyholes. This hardware has been cast with leaf and berry and beaded pearl motifs. The petite legs are turned and fluted. A handsome chest that would be a wonderful addition to any room.
