French 19th Century Oak Low Table from Burgundy
Dimensions: 20″H x 49″W x 31 3/4″D
This generously sized, rectangular, oak coffee table comes from Burgundy and was made there towards the end of the 19th century. The top is made of beautiful oak boards, kept together by tongue and groove joinery, which is exposed at the table’s ends. Ideally sized for use as a coffee table, it has a spacious surface, and a height that allows this table to be used with many different sofa seat heights. The single drawer is fitted with a turned, wood knob, and provides a place to store remote controls and other items out of sight. The French oak is beautifully toned, with a rich, dark color and wonderful grains. The solid oak base’s components are secured using peg joinery. c.1880.
