Dimensions: 38 ¾” H x 107 ⅝” W x 25 ¾” D
A truly magnificent French 19th century solid walnut enfilade, circa, 1810, from a country auberge (a lodging place like an inn). Transitional in style, it favors clean lines to allow the rich wood tones and handsome grain patterns to speak for themselves. A row of three shallow drawers fits discreetly in the frieze below the plank top: one wide drawer at the center and one on each side, all using incredible forged iron handles. Note that the shield escutcheon is present but the lock and key are removed. Below the drawers one finds a line of four, paneled doors following the proportions of the drawers above: the center doors open together as a wide compartment with a single shelf, 21” deep. The left and right doors enclose smaller cabinets with shelves, 17” and 18” deep respectively. An elegant storage piece for a dining room or foyer, this 20th century Louis XVI style enfilade captures the refinement of the period in timeless finishes like marble and mahogany. The white marble top follows the turreted profile of the case, where the stone does show evidence of prior repairs on each rounded corner. outlined by a pierced brass gallery cut away at the front. Three rectangular drawers in the frieze easily open by ring-pull hardware, flanked on the sides by reeded brass panels at the top of the legs. In the main body, three paneled doors in flamed mahogany veneer outlined in brass trim enclose the compartments. Each contains fixed shelves: two narrow cabinets on the left and right (15 ¼” deep), and a wide cabinet in the middle (16” deep). A little apron hangs below the center door, enhanced by a linear, floral appliqué of gilt bronze. Three keys included for the working locks. English 19th Century Ebonized Inlay Credenza
$3,500.0038.75"H x 60.63"W x 16"D
Dimensions: 38 ¾” H x 60 ⅝” W x 16” D
A spectacular cabinet/credenza from England circa 1850, displaying many of the audacious characteristics as the Third Empire style of France within the same time period. Presented in an approachable, demilune form the curved case is emphasized by luxurious materials and techniques on every surface: opaque ebonized woods make a graphic contrast against the luminous, figured maple inlaid with geometric and foliate marquetry set off by gilt ormolu beading on the edges. Quarter-round cabinets on the left and right have full visibility through curved glass doors to view the contents arranged on velvet-lined shelves. Behind the locking door at center adorned with a marquetry cartouche, the interior is also lined in a worn velvet which wraps around a single shelf, 11 ¾” deep. The whole is raised on a plinth base. One key included. This fabulous piece of display furniture has been gently cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax to reveal all of the historic character–ready for your interior. Italian 18th Century Painted Buffet
$7,895.0037"H x 69"W x 20"D
Dimensions: 37” H x 69” W x 20” D
An endearing 18th century Italian hand-painted buffet that departs from the strong visual codes of the Baroque period adopting the relaxed manner of Louis XV and Gustavian polychrome furniture. The tone-on-tone blue cabinet is fitted with two doors on the front side, in between nicely canted corners interrupted by narrow, paneled sections filled with abstract gradients of blue in reference to the sky. The upper surface is a dark slate whereas the majority of the exterior is cerulean. Central panels on the doors have been treated as a cartouche for artistic expression to illustrate what appears to be the casting out of Adam & Eve from the garden of Eden and their circumstances following. A twist of the turned knob on either door opens to reveal a divided interior of two sections each with a shelf, 16 ⅝” deep. Above each door is a small drawer using Chinoiserie/Chippendale drop pulls, repeated again on the wide drawer that spans the front. Large, turned bun feet elevate the case from the floor. Below the drawers are two paneled doors enclosing the undivided cabinet using tiny brass knobs and secured by wood latches. The long, interior shelf measures 16 ¼” deep. Within the frieze sit two drawers using iron drop handles mounted on pierced backplates; the right drawer has been divided into two sections and is more patinated with the remains of a blue-green paint. Below the drawers are three paneled doors representing two cabinets: the (locking) left door is one compartment, whereas the center door and right door share a lock to enclose the wider of the compartments. French Vintage Painted Enfilade
$6,500.0038.63"H x 83.75"W x 20"D
Dimensions: 38 ⅝“ H x 83 ¾” W x ” D
A French, early to mid-20th century four door enfilade transformed more recently with a painted, scraped blue finish applied by hand that beautifully contrasts the linear formality of the wide case. Ethereal layers of pigment suggest Gustavian and Provincial inspiration using a lightly patinated faux finishing effect to wash the wood in a dusty shade of blue. Four paneled doors enclose the unpainted interior, secured by magnetic catches and released by a gentle pull on the understated brass knobs. Note that the center doors open in tandem for easy access to the undivided cabinet with a single shelf (17 ½” D) spanning the width for abundant storage capacity to keep a living room or dining room organized. Cleaned and tightened, this buffet is ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images.
French Mid Century Modern Sideboard
$5,600.0031.38"H x 86.63"W x 17.75"D
Dimensions: 31 ⅜” H x 86 ⅝” W x 17 ¾” D
French Mid-century Modern (circa 1960) walnut sideboard of undeniable Scandinavian-Danish inspiration, to offer practical and attractive storage in a dining or living room. The rectangular case is separated into three storage options: each sliding door represents a compartment, with a stack of four drawers to the right. Note that holes are drilled for pegs to support a shelf inside the compartments, however the original shelves are not present. The top drawer retains the original red felt lining to cushion serving pieces if using a sideboard or buffet in a dining room. Another drawer has been adapted by cutting a small opening in the bottom (perhaps for a cable or cord). Hand-carved finger pulls on the drawers are sleek and sculptural, like the inset handles of the doors which balance the modern qualities of the design with organic references. Inside the left cabinet is the original sticker of “NF Ameublement” to indicate its mark of quality that is still apparent and endures sixty-plus years later. This beautiful case piece has been cleaned, tightened and polished with a French paste wax to last for generations to come. Please view the detailed images.

$7,200.0040.50"H x 98.75"W x 21.63"D
Dimensions: 40 ½” H x 98 ¾” W x 21 ⅝” D
A statement piece for a dining room or foyer, this 20th century Louis XVI style enfilade speaks of refined taste and luxury, marked NF Ameublements after winning of a gold medal for quality French design. The beige marble slab conforms to the breakfront that hangs over the middle section before sloping back toward the wall, the stone traced with abstract veining of gray ribbons. Note that there is a break on the rear left corner, see the image gallery for more information. Three rectangular drawers in the center are lined in felt material with various folds and slots to organize a collection of silverware. They are separated by gilt bronze appliques of foliate design over fluted pilasters in between the lower cabinet doors and all drawers use gilt bronze laurel wreath ring pulls. Surprisingly, the curved left and right corners aren’t fixed but fully functioning drawers as well, sliding out at a 45 degree angle to the case. In the main body, five doors with stunning bookmatched mahogany veneer enclose the various storage compartments: quarter-round cabinets to the sides offering two shelves each, a wide cabinet behind the left and middle doors with two shelves, and narrow cabinet to the right with one shelf. Fluted, tapered feet with bronze appliques and sabots elevate the piece from the floor giving it a sense of lightness in spite of the grand scale.
