$3,600.00
Dimensions: 68-¼”H x 39”W x 16-⅞”D
This unique secretary desk is made of beautiful mahogany with a white marble top and offers plenty of storage. It is a transitional piece with Directoire and Louis XVI influences. All exposed corners are capped with dentil molding and are fluted top to bottom. Just below the marble top are two lockable mirrored doors with original glass. When opened, the door backs are lined with green felt and the storage space has six sliding shelves that can be moved within 12 available guides creating a very unique storage capability. The top section is separated from the rest of the piece visually with a narrow trim wrapping the front and both sides. The drop-leaf work surface opens with a key and has a leather insert that is worn. When the desk is opened, the theatre has four equally sized drawers and four cubbys in varying sizes. Below the work space are a bank of three equally sized locking drawers, all with matching drop bail pulls. There are two keys that work all five locks and fit nicely into all matching escutcheon plates. Each side is comprised of three framed and recessed panels, mimicking the layout down the front of the secretary. The whole is raised on four, square and tapering feet with brass sabots.
