French 19th Century Butcher’s Presentation Table
$8,500.0030.50"H x 52.13"W x 31.38"D
Dimensions: 30 ½” H x 52 ⅛” W x 31 ⅜” D
A dramatic French marble and iron work table from the 19th century, that would have been a display fixture in a butcher shop or bakery to present the current offerings. The thick, white marble slab has wispy gray veining throughout, finished with a smooth, honed surface and rounded edges and is tinged to saffron-toned patina. Like many butcher’s tables of similar style, this example has a trough carved around the perimeter for liquids to drain into. The cast iron base features an ornate apron of dense, stylized Neoclassical foliate motifs suspended over exaggerated scrolls for legs. These historic details have been preserved and emphasized by a recent powder coat in a glossy shade of red somewhere between oxblood (appropriately) and maroon. Cleaned and restored, this former butcher shop table is a practical addition for a home bar, kitchen, greenhouse, or patio. Please view the detailed images to see more.
French 20th Century Industrial Work Bench
$3,995.0034.50"H x 75.50"W x 30.50"D
Dimensions: 34 ½” H x 75 ½” W x 30 ½” D
A fantastic industrial workbench from France, early to mid-20th century, assembled from a heavy steel case with a thick wood top surface that would allow this piece to become a unique kitchen island infused with authenticity for the modern interior. Using only three boards (likely beech), the wood reflects decades of merciless patina inflicted upon the resilient planks: holes, chop marks, bits of metal, and layers of paint to name a few, resulting in an engaging, tactile quality. In the case below–equally patinated to reveal layers of blue and cool mint green paint–are three distinct compartments for display and storage: an open shelf to the left which can be accessed on either side, and two cabinets with angled handles that may have originally had locks. Note that the left cabinet is fitted with brackets to support a shelf. Folded steel plates for legs elevate the case to a comfortable height to work and prep, leaving the floor open (perfect for accessing outlets and other utilities) underneath. Recently cleaned and waxed to preserve its character, this industrial work table is ready to join your interior. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition.

A unique farm table with origins in 19th century France, adapted in the 20th century with a new white marble top on the original oak frame. At just over six-feet long, the scale is perfect to host intimate gatherings of family & friends or everyday meals. The top surface of antique honed white marble has a smooth texture that is inviting to the touch, animated by thin ribbons of gray veining and finished to rounded corners. Patina is light with spots or streaks of tan discoloration after decades of use. Two pairs of square, muscular legs support the scale of the table joined by stretchers across the length and width–all stained an attractive shade of chestnut. Distance between the legs is approximately 66” to fit three chairs per side comfortably (or a single bench) with the possibility of a chair on each end. The proportions and quality craftsmanship of the table could easily adapt to a multitude of uses around the home, even to a retail or business environment as a display fixture. As well, the table could easily be lifted and adapted into a kitchen island or work table.
