The quarter-round shape of the cabinet tucks into any corner, designed to save precious floor space by mounting to the wall with hooks on the back (although only one hook remains intact). The bowed front of the case features a line of stylized dentil molding at the cornice, over a pair of arched doors in densely figured grain, opening by lock & key to the immersive sky blue painted interior. A massive French wine/beer bottle drying tree from circa 1920 in zinc plated metal. The spiky, conical form (also called a hedgehog) is made of fourteen graduated rings with hooks to hold the mouths of the bottles while they air dry, widening from approximately 14” diameter at the top ring to 25” at the bottom. Outside of the intended culinary use in a kitchen or pantry the rack might also be an unexpected coat tree, clothing rack for small accessories like scarves, bags, and hats, or sculptural statement in a garden. Below, the diagonally placed assemblage of stalks features square panels that have been ebonized (painted) and pasted with seemingly gilded illustrations of various types of fish.
