Irish 19th Century Polychrome Pine Pot Board Dresser
Dimensions: 78-1/4″H x 64-1/2″W x 17-1/2″D
A compelling Irish dresser, with pot board, made circa 1840. The polychrome antique is painted a serene teal-green with a red painted pot board backing. The painted finish is exceptionally antiqued and patinated, with natural wood becoming exposed from behind the aged paint. The dresser is made of solid pine, with the work surface left natural. The dresser has two drawers that are situated above two doors. The doors and drawers both have turned wooden knobs, the doors being held closed with latches. The doors close before an interior cavity that has been furnished with a single fixed shelf. This down-to-earth antique lends itself to a more casual design, however, it can easily be folded into a more formal setting.
