Pair of 18th Century Italian Silver Gilt Venetian Sconces
Dimensions: 23″H x 16 1/2″W x 9″D
An elegant pair of silver gilt three-light sconces from Italy, circa 1780. These beautifully carved sconces have been made in the Rococo style, with beautiful silver gilt that is still largely intact. The pair contain shaped mirrors, that, along with the giltwork, create a dazzling effect when illuminated. The mirrors retain their original mercury glass, complete with sparkles and foxing. Each fixture has three lights, supported by embellished arms, that have blue and yellow painted bobeches beneath the ivory candle covers. The fixtures require candelabra bulbs and have been wired for US.
