Pair of English 19th Century Inlaid Mahogany Hall Chairs
Dimensions: 36″H x 17″W x 18-1/2″D
A remarkable pair of mahogany hall chairs from 1850’s England. This fine pair boasts expertly executed mahogany inlay and ebonization. Masterful carving techniques were employed to create the shapely and geometric details that grace the set. The top rail and apron have been embellished with incredible mahogany inlay, done in a Greek Key motif. The seats rest on curule-styled bases that are braced with turned stretchers. A fantastic pair of English antiques. They are works of art in and of themselves, thoughtfully incorporating the different tones found in the mahogany.
