An elegant late 19th century French sugar bowl/caddy in a cut glass vessel fitted with a silver-plated lid and handle. Intended to serve sugar or perhaps a kind of jam with style and sophistication, the shallow body is hand-crafted from clear, faceted glass with little foliate and snowflake designs interspersed with scrolling motifs etched across. The lid does not have a notch to accommodate a spoon, using a ball finial to lift. Small hallmark of an archer and a series of numbers to one side of the rim.
