    A delightful pair of staddlestones, c. 1780, that will add plenty of charm to your garden! Staddlestones, or stone mushrooms, date back to the medieval period and were originally used as supporting bases for granaries, hayricks, etc. The staddle stones lifted the granaries above the ground protecting the stored grain from vermin and water seepage. The upwardly tapering form and overlapping capstone make it almost impossible for a rodent to climb up and into the hay or grain stored above. The air could freely circulate beneath the stored crops and this helped to keep it dry. They differ only slightly in size- the taller measuring 31-¾”H x 23-⅜”Diameter; the shorter measuring 30-½”H x 22-¾”Diameter. Tops are removable. Sold as a pair only.

    This stately bonneterie was crafted in France during the 19th century from solid walnut. The bonneterie was created in the mid 18th century in France with the rise in popularity of large and often delicate hats and wigs and a new need for tall, slender storage options. Sharply paneled doors and sides give the piece an uncluttered, symmetrical look. Large iron barrel hinges support the heavy door. Three adjustable shelves are found inside. Door lock is functioning, including one key. Raised on simple block feet. Be sure to take a look at the detailed dimages. This bonnetier is solid and sturdy, it has the illusion of a lean due to its age and construction. Notice the distance from the bottom molding to the underside of the door on each side.

Crafted from sturdy, solid oak- the top bears the marks of many generations and some visible repairs that give the table a massive amount of antique charm. A plain apron with a molded edge connects to turned legs with carved, shaped bracket supports. An H form attaches to the legs to provide support for many years to come without getting in the way of pulling up a chair or bench. The apron height is 26”.     An English tea trolley crafted in the 19th century. The mahogany is stunning, with a deep, rich color and lovely patina. Two tiers are each enclosed with a molded edge.     An expertly carved and painted vanity, done in the Louis XVI style circa 1870 that features a tilting mirror, three drawers, and an inset marble top. A characteristically asymmetrical tied ribbon is perched atop the mirror, with more scrolled carved details found all about the piece. The antique mirror plate,held between two fluted posts with finials and brackets- features a generous amount of foxing. The two small drawers on the vanity surface are topped with scrolling acanthus leaves and carved drapery details between them. The inset colorful marble top surface has been cracked and professionally repaired. The vanity surface is 29-⅜”H. The paneled apron with carved pearl borders houses a single drawer with a dainty drop ring pull. Apron knee clearance is 25-¼”. At each of the corners, flanking the drawer, are carved floret dies.     This fantastic Swedish bakers cabinet is a versatile addition to any space. Crafted in the 19th century with the original, worn charcoal marble top. The apron houses a single lengthwise drawer with a pair of oval bail pulls. Unlocking the shaped paneled doors reveals two removable shelves in the usual fashion of a bakers table with the ability to fully slide out- sometimes called baker boards. The interior shelves are not original but match the antique finish well. Over the decades this cabinet has gained a wonderful patina. In wonderful antique condition with a gentle patina, there is plenty of space for books, art, and decor. This piece would have originally been built into the wall behind the pharmacist counter, evidence of which can still be found on the back.     This eye-catching 18th century Swedish painted settee is a jewel of a find. The hand carved details throughout are beautifully accentuated by the original pale gray painted finish. A high gallery rail on three sides- perfect for bunching up pillows- with stylized urn forms lifting an upper upholstered section. The worn upholstery does need to be replaced, giving you the chance to add your own touch to perfectly fit your space. The turned legs feature beautiful flower like carvings and a round finial atop each support. Since the 1700’s, this piece has seen a lot of life and achieved a lovely patina.     This wonderfully aged 19th century grape press screw from a winery in Burgundy, France has been converted into a stunning floor lamp. The shaft would have driven a large stone wheel downward, crushing and squeezing grapes, forcing out their juice as the stone rotates across them. The production of wine is tantamount to French culture, and these larger-than-life screws make producing it en masse a possibility. This antique press, with a deep, rich staining and patina from the grapes has been wired for the US using UL listed parts by a professional.
