In wonderful antique condition with a gentle patina, there is plenty of space for books, art, and decor. This piece would have originally been built into the wall behind the pharmacist counter, evidence of which can still be found on the back.     This eye-catching 18th century Swedish painted settee is a jewel of a find. The hand carved details throughout are beautifully accentuated by the original pale gray painted finish. A high gallery rail on three sides- perfect for bunching up pillows- with stylized urn forms lifting an upper upholstered section. The worn upholstery does need to be replaced, giving you the chance to add your own touch to perfectly fit your space. The turned legs feature beautiful flower like carvings and a round finial atop each support. Since the 1700’s, this piece has seen a lot of life and achieved a lovely patina.     This wonderfully aged 19th century grape press screw from a winery in Burgundy, France has been converted into a stunning floor lamp. The shaft would have driven a large stone wheel downward, crushing and squeezing grapes, forcing out their juice as the stone rotates across them. The production of wine is tantamount to French culture, and these larger-than-life screws make producing it en masse a possibility. This antique press, with a deep, rich staining and patina from the grapes has been wired for the US using UL listed parts by a professional. They are both hung on barrel hinges and contain functional locks. They conceal an interior outfitted with two fixed shelves that run the width of the upper body. Both the upper and lower bodies have exceptional carved panels that comprise the doors and large center stiles. The lower body has two separated interiors which are each equipped with a single fixed shelf. These too can be secured with their working locks. Four keys.

    This petite work table from 19th century France is full of charming elements within a compact design. Details allude to this piece serving as a correspondence and sewing table. Unlocking what seems to be a drawer actually allows the top to hinge open and reveal an antique mirror plate affixed to the underside and pre-sectioned organization with a built in pin cushion. The key for lifting the top has a lovely tag with engravings saying ‘Table à ouvrage’ meaning work table and ‘Rez de Chaussee Ch.bre No.1 Bis’ which translates to Ground Floor Bedroom No. 1 Copy on the flip side of the tag. The lower drawer features a writing surface inset with worn black leather and tooled with gold that slides back to reveal a paper and stationary storage compartment. Three inkwells made of brass and glass fit perfectly beside the writing surface. Two keys are included. A concave stretcher connects the column-from legs and provides lasting support. The apron houses two drawers and two slides with metal hardware to easily slide open. Both drink slides feature inset black leather tops in good condition and bring the maximum width to 40-¾”. Square legs with a sharp taper are fixed with brass sabot feet for continued support. The stone bears the marks of many decades of use- some discoloration and a small crack along the perimeter add to the tables antique charm. The inlay work on the apron has some repairs as well. The dimensions of the table with leaves down: 28-¼”H x 38-¼”W x 21-½”D. When fully extended the table measures 64-⅝”W The leaves for the extension are missing but could be fabricated to fit.     This striking little demilune chest features exceptional inlaid mahogany in varying varieties that have been thoughtfully book matched and placed about the chest to maximize the beauty expressed through its grain. Made in France in 1965, this vintage chest was created in the style of Louis XVI and underwent a refinishing in November of 2009. This restoration is documented in writing beneath the half moon piece of Breche d’Alep marble which tops the chest, along with the maker’s signature “Vecnissage par H.B.B Maco 1965”. Two shaped drawers are housed within the chest and bedecked with cast brass pulls and escutcheons. There are no keys present. Beautiful cast brass ormolu can also be found about the front feet, apron and flanking the bank of drawers.

The wonderful brass hardware found at the capital and base of the pilaster columns which flank the door has been polished to a brilliant luster – along with the sabots that cap the front feet.     This 19th century clock is stunning with its diamond-shaped rippling clock frame of ebony-painted wood. Mother-of-pearl floral and foliate designs are inlaid in differently stained mahogany and brilliant mother-of-pearl, surrounding the porcelain clock face in symmetrical form. Behind protective glass, the white porcelain face has beautiful hand-painted Roman numerals and floral design radiating from the pierced brass hands. Recently professionally cleaned and ready to be hung in your interior. The clock chimes on the hour, 5 minutes after the hour, and once on the half hour. For an additional $150.00 a quartz movement can be added to the clock to keep time without winding weekly. This clock has a very short pendulum swing and must be level. Originally made popular during Paris’ Belle Époque, marble bistro tables such as this one, continue to be used in restaurants and bistros throughout France and other parts of Europe. This solid marble top and iron base table was constructed in the same manner as the originals, over 100 years ago. Features an antiqued, seamless brass band which encompasses the rim of the white marble. The four foot base features the same detail taken from an original early 20th century French bistro table. The marble is securely fixed to the table using heavy duty steel prongs used under the table top to hold the marble to the base. Inquire for availability! Stone color may vary slightly. Assembly is required. Suitable for use indoors or out. If used outside, tarnishing may occur to the brass band.

    A square vintage French cocktail or coffee table with a unique flair. The frame is made of brass and supported by square acrylic legs. Snuggly enclosed in brass, the top glass is beveled with a small chip at one corner. The lower tier glass is in good condition without visible signs of wear. It attaches to the legs with sleek square facets to give the illusion of floating. Created by renowned French designer Pierre Vandel in the 1970’s.     This wonderful Empire mahogany commode was created in 19th century France. Topped with a removable piece of black fossil granite with rounded front corners. The apron houses a hidden drawer without hardware, it opens easily with groves hidden on the underside of the drawer. Three lower drawers each feature a pair of highly decorative cast brass pulls with a beautiful floral motif and simple brass inset keyholes. No key is present for this piece. Recently cleaned and polished with French wax paste; the bookmatched mahogany veneer has gained a warm patina. There is some minor wear to the drawer edges, adding to its antique charm.
