French 19th Century Ebonized Enfilade
$6,900.0041.25"H x 70.25"W x 19.50"D
Dimensions: 41 ¼” H x 70 ¼” W x 19 ½” D
A timeless storage piece for refined and modern tastes, this 19th century French mahogany enfilade has a more recent ebonized finish that beautifully contrasts the white marble top for a touch of drama in a foyer or dining room. The narrow case is crowned by a recent cut of rectangular marble in translucent white with pale green veining, finished to flat edges that keep the overall profile clean and linear. Note there is a small flea-bite chip along the front of the stone (see the image gallery for more information). Across the frieze are three drawers: the left and right drawers use angular bail pulls to slide open while the center drawer retains a working lock & key behind the shield escutcheon. Below, three paneled doors enclose a divided interior of one long shelf spanning the first and middle doors with a smaller cabinet behind the third door. All doors lock by their individual keys, four keys total included. Cleaned, polished, and tightened, this gorgeous antique enfilade is ready for your interior. French 19th Century Solid Walnut Commode
$3,500.0033.75"H x 49.75"W x 22.63"D
Dimensions: 33 ¾” H x 49 ¾” W x 22 ⅝” D
A grand, solid walnut commode from 19th century France, aligning with the Louis XVI taste, it is a multipurpose storage piece scaled to use practically anywhere around the home. The Saint Anne marble top (which may not be original to the case but is flush with the proportions) exhibits the characteristic grayscale veining etched with fine scratches and carved with a shallow groove around the perimeter. Note there is an area of loss to the stone toward the back left, see the image gallery for more information. Modest in construction, the case of three drawers use brass bail pull hardware which lends functional ornamentation to the piece, complemented by small keyhole escutcheons leaving great swathes of the wood to be appreciated for the color and grain. Tapering block feet elevate the case from the floor. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax this antique commode is ready to join your interior.
